The Online Environment
Our students vary in their motives for joining our virtual school. Many have found that the traditional brick & mortar setting did not meet their educational needs as they wish to learn at an accelerated pace, or they require personalized instruction where teachers are available more often for one-on-one help. Some students, due to a multiplicity of life circumstances find a traditional school day impossible. Parents who believe in providing a home-based education for their children have the freedom to directly support their children’s education while letting Productive Learning’s certified teachers do what they do best, teach. Regardless of the reasons for online learning, students benefit from the atmosphere that blends flexibility and accountability for enhanced student success. Our goalis to make quality education available to all students by offering on-line courses and instructional support in a flexible and dynamic alternative setting which expand the boundaries of the traditional classroom.
| What are some benefits of an online educational environment? | |
| ► Challenge of not “being monitored” and staying on task on one’s own | |
| ► Benefit of flexible schedule, and unlimited access to information and education professionals | |
| ► Allows students to network with other online learners in a secure environment | |
| ► Due to the ability to “self-pace” in the online environment, students who learn faster or slower than the typical student will benefit | |
| ► Encourages students to think autonomously, be original and creative thus developing their capacity to become independent learners | |
| ► It’s easier to avoid the distractions (peers and parties) of regular school and focus on getting work done | |
